Transport Research Arena (TRA) took place in Dublin, Ireland from 15 to 18 April 2024. The theme for TRA2024 was “Transport Transitions: Advancing Sustainable and Inclusive Mobility”. This was the perfect opportunity for the metaCCAZE project to share its future ambition toward zero emission shared mobility services for both passengers and goods in European cities.
Paraskevi (Evi) Koliou, transportation engineer and research associate at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) presented metaCCAZE’s main objective to accelerate the deployment of the smart systems that combine electric automated and connected technologies and infrastructure.
During the next four years, the project, co-funded by the European Union, will test and demonstrate innovative technologies in four trailblazer cities – Amsterdam, Munich, Limassol, and Tampere – and expand the impact of promising ones to six Follower Cities (Athens, Krakow, Gozo, Milan, Miskolc, and the Paris region), ensuring widespread market penetration and scalability.
During her presentation, Evi Koliou described the intricate workings of the metaCCAZE project, emphasising its potential to address pressing challenges in urban mobility, such as congestion, pollution, and accessibility.
