The metaCCAZE project has made notable progress in Miskolc, the follower city in Hungary, as the project partners recently met to review its current status and plan next steps.
The meeting, held at the central office of MVK Zrt. (Miskolc Urban Transport Agency), brought together local partners from MVK Zrt. and HC Linear Ltd., as well as representatives from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), who joined remotely via an online call.
The discussion was productive and focused on evaluating the project’s progress, addressing challenges, and proposing solutions. Following the meeting, a site visit was conducted to survey key transport hubs in Miskolc. This visit was crucial for determining the location of a multimodal information point, a key element of the future mobility solution to be developed in Miskolc.
The multimodal information point will provide detailed transport information to help commuters make informed decisions about their travel options. In addition to offering real-time updates on public transport, it will play a significant role in supporting the city’s climate neutrality goals by promoting sustainable transport choices.
“This information point is an important milestone for the project,” said Szmutka András from MVK. “It will not only improve accessibility and connectivity in the city but also contribute to a more sustainable and eco-friendly transport system.”
In Miskolc, metaCCAZE partners aim to integrate different modes of transport more effectively, enhancing the overall user experience while also supporting Miskolc’s long-term environmental objectives. The installation of the multimodal information point is expected to be a key step in raising public awareness and encouraging the use of more sustainable transport methods.
The project is part of Miskolc’s broader efforts to reduce carbon emissions and create a more sustainable urban environment. As a Mission City, Miskolc completed its Climate City Contract (CCC) and achieved one of the best Completeness Check scores among its peers.
